Feel free to leave any comments below regarding how you personally feel about Ms. Austen.

“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! — When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.”

― Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

  1. Somewhere in my mid-twenties I went from someone who gernally appreciates Jane into something of an Austen nut.

Sky-rocketing from my simple all-in-one Austen novels collection to dozens of Austen (and Austen-like) tales, several biographies and the entire collection of Austen-as-sleuth Barron novels.

I think I can lend a fair amount of it to my love of the 2007 (mildly inaccurate but oh-so-lovely) film, Becoming Jane.

    • Thank you for your great comment! Reading Austen is addictive! Everytime one reads an Austen novel, it matures us just a little more or as you say…’Sky-rockets’ us from one book to a complete collection! Thank you again for your Austenesque comment and we thank you for your support! Welcome, also, as our first Jane Austen Guest 😀 ~SK of MVBClub

  2. As a male author of Jane Austen historical fiction, I say it’s about time us guys took back reading! I discovered Austen back in the 1980’s, and she led me to other great classic fiction, including Forester and O’Brian. Permission to come aboard!

    • WELCOME ABOARD JACK! Thank you for your sterling comment and we appreciate your honest look into great classical fiction! We hope more men follow your example and join in the book-reading journey. Reading opens up many opportunities and the mind; it’s just a matter of getting more male readers to open one door at time. Thank you Jack! ~JV of MVBClub
